First United Methodist Church

Our church offers Sunday School every Sunday in a safe and caring environment for children ages         3 - high school.  The curriculum for ages 3 - middle school is Deep Blue Connects, and High School uses a combination of sermon discussion and the Groove Youth Discussion Guide, both by Cokesbury.  https://www.cokesbury.com.

We strive to be inclusive of all children, and all are welcome.  Our goal is to asist our children and youth in each of their own journeys in becoming disciples of Christ.  Biblical-based study focuses on discussion about how to follow the teachings of Christ in our day to day lives.

Child care is available for  0 - kindergarten from 8:45 to 11am.

Enrichment Activities (games and crafts) are offered between 9:15 to 9:45 am for families attending the Traditional worship.

Sunday School for ages 3-middle school is 9:45 to 10:30  am.  We offer the following classes: preschool-kinder; 1st - 5th grades and middle school.

High School discussion group meets immediately following the Traditional Worship sermon 9:50 to 10:30 am.  

All of our teachers are certified by the United Methodist Safe Gatherings program, which includes training in appropriate interactions with children and youth as well as a strict background check. 

Our Sunday School Superintendent, Dr. Barbara Tomblin, Diaconal MinisterEmeritus has completed seminary and is a knowledgable Bible scholar. 

 Special Sunday School activities are provided yearly for Fall Kick Off, Harvest Festival, Christmas and Easter.
